Poor Microbiome

The Greek physician Hippocrates said in the third century BC, “All disease begins in the gut.” Today we know that our body is colonized by legions of organisms that outnumber our own cells by a factor of about ten to one. These roughly hundred trillion invisible creatures cover our insides and outsides and live inside our mouth, nose, ears, intestines, genitalia, and every inch of the skin of our body. Scientific research is bringing more credence to notion that up to 90 percent of all human illnesses can be traced back to an unhealthy gut.
